Selfcare is not selfish

I want to dive into a topic that's near and dear to my heart – self-care.

It is important to maintaining a healthy relationship with yourself. It is not only making sure to do things for your fysical health but also for your mind and soul. You need to be engaging in activites that all those three parts of you.

Few years ago I had a bad concious every time I took time for myself. I was a single mom then and felt sometimes I was being selfish when I went to the gym or engaged in other ativites that was good for my mind and/or soul. But after a while I understood that taking care of myself wasn't selfish - it is necessity for our health and being the best version of ourselfes!

The Myth of Selfishness

Picture this: You're on an airplane, and the flight attendant instructs you to put on your oxygen mask before assisting others. Why? Because you can't help anyone else if you're running on empty oxygen. The same goes for life. Self-care isn't selfish; it's about securing your own oxygen mask first so you can conquer your midlife adventures with gusto.

The Midlife Journey: A Rollercoaster of Wisdom

As midlife women, we've earned our stripes – and maybe a few laugh lines too! Our journey has been a rollercoaster of experiences, lessons, and yes, challenges. Self-care becomes the secret weapon in navigating this ride. From spa days to quiet moments with a good book, these little acts of self-love are the fuel for our midlife journey.

Unleashing Your Inner Power

There's a certain power that comes with embracing self-care. It's not about perfection; it's about honoring and nourishing yourself. Think of it as a superhero transformation – you, the midlife wonder woman, ready to conquer the world armed with moisturizer and a positive mindset!

The Three Musketeers: Mind, Body, and Spirit

Self-care is a trifecta that addresses your mind, body, and spirit. Whether it's a brisk walk to clear your head, indulging in a delicious piece of chocolate (or two), or simply taking a moment to breathe, each act contributes to the harmony of your mind, body, and spirit.

Finding Humor in the Midlife Moments

They say laughter is the best medicine, and I couldn't agree more! Amidst the chaos of life, find joy in the little things is the best thing. Share a funny meme, indulge in a sitcom marathon, or dance like no one's watching in your living room. Laughter is not only self-care; it's a lifeline.

In our fast-changing world, us women are managing lots of different things. We handle jobs, relationships, and our own dreams – it's a bit like juggling. With all this going on, we often forget about taking care of ourselves and growing personally.
